Dental Crowns and Bridges

Restore Your Smile with Natural-Looking Results

Dental crowns and bridges offer reliable solutions for restoring damaged or missing teeth. At Allenby Gardens Dental, our dentists use high-quality restorative treatments to protect weakened teeth, improve chewing function, and restore the natural look of your smile.

During your consultation, our dentists carefully assess your oral health and discuss the best treatment options with you. As a result, we can recommend the most suitable solution to achieve comfortable, long-lasting results.

What Are Dental Crowns?

A dental crown is a custom-made cap that covers and protects a damaged or weakened tooth. It restores the tooth’s shape, strength, and appearance while also preventing further damage.

Dentists commonly recommend crowns when a tooth becomes severely decayed, cracked, worn down, or weakened after root canal treatment. In these situations, a crown strengthens the remaining tooth structure and helps restore normal function.

Crowns may be recommended for:

  • Protecting a weakened or cracked tooth
  • Restoring a tooth after root canal treatment
  • Replacing large fillings where little tooth structure remains
  • Improving the appearance of discoloured or misshapen teeth
  • Supporting a dental bridge
  • Covering a dental implant

In addition, modern crowns match the colour and shape of your natural teeth. Therefore, they blend seamlessly into your smile while providing strong and durable protection.

What Are Dental Bridges?

A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by filling the gap between neighbouring teeth. Dentists secure the bridge to natural teeth or crowns on either side of the space, which creates a stable and fixed restoration.

When a tooth is missing, nearby teeth may gradually shift out of position. However, a dental bridge helps maintain the alignment of your teeth and restores normal chewing ability.

Benefits of dental bridges include:

  • Restoring your smile and facial balance
  • Improving chewing and speaking ability
  • Preventing nearby teeth from moving out of position
  • Providing a fixed and stable alternative to removable dentures

Please arrive 10 mins earlier to fill in our new patient medical and dental history form, so that we can gather all the information before discussing with our dentist your chief concerns, which we will aim to address first. If time permits, our dentists will perform a thorough exam of your teeth and take some X-rays to make sure we identify all issues in regards to your oral health. We will then provide you with insights about your teeth and oral hygiene, and if required - discuss possible personalised treatment options with you, providing detailed explanations using visuals from photos and X-rays. We don’t just look after you today but we also plan with you for the next 10 years.

At Allenby Gardens Dental, we recommend our patients to come back twice a year to have a regular check up and clean. This can help us to identify problems early and treat the issue when it is easy to manage. It is also important to maintain the healthiness of your teeth and gum.

We recommend parents to bring their child in for their first visit when their first tooth has come through. This will allow the kid to get used to the dental environment and enjoy a ride in the chair. Our goal is to establish a comfortable and pleasant experience for the child and establish a good impression from a young age, so that we can help guide them towards looking after their oral hygiene together.
