Check up and clean

Check-Up and Clean Adelaide

Preventive Dental Care for a Healthy Smile

We recommend a dental check-up and clean every six months to help maintain good oral health. Regular visits allow our dentists to detect signs of decay, gum disease, and infection early, so treatment can be provided before problems become more serious.

At Allenby Gardens Dental, your appointment includes a comprehensive examination of your teeth, gums, and overall oral health, along with a professional clean to remove plaque and tartar that regular brushing and flossing cannot remove at home.

What Happens During a Check-Up and Clean?

During your visit, our dentists will carefully assess your oral health and look for any issues that may need attention. We may also take dental X-rays or clinical photos when needed to help identify problems that are not always visible during a standard examination.

A professional clean helps keep your teeth and gums healthy, reduces the risk of future dental problems, and leaves your mouth feeling fresh.

Why Regular Dental Check-Ups Matter

Regular dental check-ups are an important part of preventive dentistry. They help protect your oral health, support early diagnosis, and reduce the need for more complex treatment in the future.

By attending routine check-up and clean appointments, you can maintain a healthier smile for the long term.

Please arrive 10 mins earlier to fill in our new patient medical and dental history form, so that we can gather all the information before discussing with our dentist your chief concerns, which we will aim to address first. If time permits, our dentists will perform a thorough exam of your teeth and take some X-rays to make sure we identify all issues in regards to your oral health. We will then provide you with insights about your teeth and oral hygiene, and if required - discuss possible personalised treatment options with you, providing detailed explanations using visuals from photos and X-rays. We don’t just look after you today but we also plan with you for the next 10 years.

At Allenby Gardens Dental, we recommend our patients to come back twice a year to have a regular check up and clean. This can help us to identify problems early and treat the issue when it is easy to manage. It is also important to maintain the healthiness of your teeth and gum.

We recommend parents to bring their child in for their first visit when their first tooth has come through. This will allow the kid to get used to the dental environment and enjoy a ride in the chair. Our goal is to establish a comfortable and pleasant experience for the child and establish a good impression from a young age, so that we can help guide them towards looking after their oral hygiene together.
